Brazilian designer Carlos Sobral, born in Rio de Janeiro, started making jewelry and accessories in the '60. Deeply immersed in the hippie movement, Sobral started to create his pieces from recycled materials, the core principle of his creations nowadays. After selling his creations during the cultural events organized in Rio, he opened the first store in the same city in 1982 to expand later in the United States and Europe. The material used to make the jewelry is completely recyclable polyester resin as well as the other components that come from recycled materials while protecting the environment.
